Can you be predicted an A* in a subject if you got an A in AS?

I was wondering if you could or if A* can't be predicted. My tutor hasn't really explained that much too us.

Yes, there are no A*s at AS so some people have to be predicted A*s from that. Unless by A* you mean over 90%?

Seeing as A is the top grade at AS then of course. Some schools operate a policy that you only get predicted the A* if your AS ums was over 90, but others dont

Certainly if you get over 90% UMS and judging by some of the predicted vs. AS grades I've seen on this forum some teachers will predict an A* even if you were quite a bit off 90.
