I have tried to do this question and my textbook is not helping. Can someone explain how to do this even if you don't give the answer. Thanks for your help.
The question is: y=x^2+8x+19 so state the co-ordinates of the minimum point and the point where the graph crosses the y-axis. Then sketch the graph.
I have completed the square to find the minimum point which is (-4,-3). The graph crosses y-axis at 19 but how can you plot it without the x values. In order to find them out you have to factorise but you can't factorise this equation! Please help and thank you in advance.
