I am wondering if anyone else out there is or has really struggled at the beginning of a project?

I've taken on a project and I have absolutely no idea about the majority of it, I've done a little bit of reading and it has become slightly clearer, but I am still struggling to write a 2 page proposal for it let alone actually get started into the guts of it.
