It's strange as psychology is such a popular subject outside of Oxford! I've gone for Brasenose, even though it is the most popular I'd rather have a tiny chance of it than no chance! You? And I felt cautiously optimistic afterwards.. Although I'm avoiding the TSA thread on here as it's making me doubt myself! What about you?

I went open !! My TSA wasn't great to be honest and that's what a lot of people said too about theirs, so if you're feeling optimistic you're probably in with a good chance 😁

Good to see there are one or two people applying this year haha - considering the added pressure of being in exam conditions etc, it went slightly better than expected - had to rush guess the last two which really hurt! But on the whole, I hope it went ok! It's killing me that we'll be one of the last subjects to hear about interviews though...

I've been waiting for replies on this thread for ages, didn't think I was the only one applying haha. I had to guess the last 13 because I ran out of time massively, so you're probably going to be alright having rushed the last two  Which college did you apply to ?

Oh bad luck - I have to admit, a friend doing PPE at Magdalen gave me the great tip that during TSA practice papers (which I only managed to do 8 or 9 of) to reduce the time allowed to 80 minutes instead of 90! It really ended up helping as I was forced to find ways to reduce the time I was spending on questions, otherwise I'd be missing out the last 5 or 6 questions altogether haha - one can only hope it paid off!

Jesus College, good location and had a really friendly, helpful feel about it - was going to cop out and apply Somerville in the hope that playing the game might sneak me in but I thought, if I go through all the effort of applying I may as well apply to somewhere I really like! We'll see, if on the one in a million chance that I do get invited to interview, if I get pooled or not anyway.... haha

What college have you gone for? At least you'll have smashed the first 37 questions! haha -

They do say if you're right for Oxford they'll let you in regardless of the college - so you made the right decision in going for where you wanted. Statistics vary year on year too so they might not be accurate representation for this year'a figures ! I submitted an open application because I didn't really mind which college

I thought that too so went for Worcester 😱😱. The application statistics for there didn't look great but I loved the college and the tutor's specialisms 😊

Worcester is absolutely beautiful !!!!!!

Agreed! What A-Levels is everyone doing out of curiosity? I finished mine in the summer, Maths Physics and Economics

They do say that... but Somerville accepted 23% of applications in the same year that St. Johns only accepted 11% - just an observation!!

What college would you hope to be placed at, out of curiosity? Surely you must have a few in mind!

I have some friends at Worcester and they love it! Their summer ball this year is apparently going to be the one to beat too!

I take Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry. When I looked around I liked Brasenose, Christchurch and Trinity (but they don't offer EP). I didn't mind though because people tend to be happy whichever college they end up at apparently. I think they do have a good pooling system though so you might be exported elsewhere if your college thinks you're still uni standard ! But you sound like you stand a good chance at any college 🙂

They also have really cute ducks aha. For your question above I take Maths, Biology, English. How did your A levels go ?

A* (econ) A (maths) A (phys) and I'm retaking maths in the summer, so am hoping to end up with an A* in that too. Seems like everyone's doing maths, a science and another subject! I'm really not expecting anything from my application, so anything would be a pure unexpected bonus! It's probably the best way to view the situation...

Haha thanks! we'll see, I'll be happy with any outcome, it's been a really good experience regardless and preparing for the tsa actually helped me a lot with general academic techniques so that's just a bonus. Let's hope we all end up with interviews, fingers crossed haah
