    Is a history PhD with it? If I should do a history PhD what jobs will there be?

    If you want to work in the higher education sector then a PhD is a requirement. But lots of people do PhDs for sheer enjoyment, not because it increases their job prospects. If you really love your subject, then it is worth it.
