Does sitting in a 70s council building in an estate writing lines for depression tablets, sickness from work or methadone every day sound cool? Because that's the reality for a lot...

Preach. Society really needs to start discussing how being a doctor isn't that glamorous. Blood, death, etc. You really have to be psychologically capable of dealing with that.

because they think doctors get paid 100k a year when actually junior doctors get paid around 23k (28k in their second year as a junior doctor) and only get around 30k when they have specialised which is less than an accountant who works for the big 4 who gets 30k straight from uni LOL

Average first year salary is about £28k and about £34-35k in the second year.

No its not. My course studied at UEA and now is a junior doctor who earns 23k
that might be the average but thats not the case for individual people. Its 30k and above when they specialise.

My course complains all the time loool its not fair tbh on med students, they were stuck in medical school for 5/6 years and earn only that much

No junior doctor earns £23k. That's the basic pay, and there are no rotations with three unbanded jobs.

Its 23k-25k in your first year a junior doctor. then it increases once you have specialised around 30k+.

My course is in her second year right now and she earns around 27/8k

You're quoting basic pay. No doctor is on basic pay alone.

oh you mean the extra bonus? yeah, I guess so but it still isn't enough tbh compared with how much you study. My cousin complains 24/7 and saying night shifts are so crap

It's still about £36k in the second year which is pretty decent. You cousin sounds like a wet towel.
