Results one day early?

I was recently told that UCAS are providing a service in which you can receive your results by text one day early- to overcome posting delays

everyone who subscribes to the service will get the text at exactly the same time

is this true? and if so how do you subscribe?

and can you check the track service at midnight on wednesday to see if you have been accepted or is it not updated until like 10am on Thursday?

This wouldn't be results though would it - more the UCAS summary - if you've met any of your uni offers... not exact grades..

i haven't heard anything about it though.

UCAS track didn't update till mid morning in my year - so i wouldn't hang around till midnight hoping...

I will check track, but there is a chance that it may not even update on the Thursday at all. Thousands of students have their information held on the database, and some poor soul has to sit there inputting all the information probably.

Also, if you are borderline, the uni may not have made a decision yet. In some cases, certain unis may just be slow at passing the information back to UCAS.

However, it's certainly worth checking just in case,as I'm sure it will have updated for the majority of people.

I doubt it will update at midnight but there's no harm in checking. I don't normally go to bed until after 12 anyway, so it'll make no difference to me.

i know in previous years the site goes down around midnight - just don't wait up especially for it - get some sleep, and party all the day on results day instead!

Last year some people i knew got their results between midnight and 9am before they got hteir results from school.
It depended on their individual universities rather than everyone getting results on track.

The results have all already been uploaded to a part of the UCAS site so I think that they will just have to click a button or transfer a file to get everyones results in to Track - the uni's got the results on Sunday and so most are busy getting their decisions sorted before hell week, ahem, I mean clearing starts!

I don't suppose we could demand access to such information now under the Data Protection Act, could we? :p:

LOL I bet you could get it via the Data Protection Act....There is a BUT...That is that they could take weeks to release the information so Thursday might actually be a little quicker...I really hope that the midnight thing is true and that we will get details of offers before grades...

Plus youd have to pay an administration fee of 10 pounds or something I think.
