I'm applying to uni through UCAS and was wondering when I accept my offers do universities know if they're my firm or insurance?
Thanks

Yes, the appropriate unis will know whether they are your firm or insurance choice. Likewise with unis whose offers you decline-they will know you have declined their offer

Thank you for your insight! If I miss my offer am I less likely to get into a good uni if they know they're my insurance and take someone who had them as their firm?

It's absolutely impossible to say before the appropriate results day-it varies between every department and every uni and every year. No one can predict anything until A2 results day, not even the independent academic departments within each university themselves

And then there's no need to rush your decision, you usually have until around May to decide.
