The idea that men are the head of the household, can come in benefit to them as regards to social status, and things like looking for jobs and social mobility. Whereas the notion that the woman's place is the kitchen, can have a negative impact on her in terms such as the 'glass ceiling' (limit to wages, on jobs), and for job interviews etc.

Also it could be argued that owing to the patrichal structures already in place in society now (such as a bias towards the strong macho type in the police and judiciary), men are more likely to get let off for some forms of crimes, such as rape or sexual abuse, then should be otherwise acceptable. This is because the police and judges, (who are mostly men), are more likely to favour men, it could be argued.

I hope this has been some help??
