1. Can someone please help me answer the following probability question: A bag contains 3 red tokens, 3 golden tokens and k black tokens. If you pick a golden token you win the game, if you pick a red token you get another go (but after that no more goes) and if you get a black token you lose. Using a tree diagram calculate (in terms of k) the probability of winning. Given that there is an equal chance of winning and losing, calculate the value of k.

Having run the numbers, I don't get an integer solution for k, which isn't valid. Checked with and without replacement. Could have made a mistake.... Do you have a link to the original question and/or can you check the wording?

Yeah, I have done the same and not been able to get a valid answer. The question is on a sheet handed out to me at school. The wording is the same as the question printed. Maybe its a misprint..

Maybe its a misprint..
I think we'll have to assume that.
