Academically I think i'm okay but one thing that worries me is that I'm quite a quiet person and i'm not sure if this will hinder me getting in because I won't perform as well in interviews?

I think they look for confidence when you are interacting with people, not necessarily if you're outgoing.

Don't worry about it. You don't have to be a 'loud' person to do well in an interview. You just need to make sure you prepare beforehand, have an idea of the structure of the interview, make sure you are able to expand upon every point you have made in your personal statement and definitely do a mock interview beforehand.

Everyone will be nervous in an interview - having had some practice beforehand and had some thought about the more obvious questions they may ask ('why medicine' etc) will give you some confidence.

As for the roleplay type scenarios that sometimes come up in MMIs, again have a look online at some example questions. Being a quiet person shouldn't hinder you in these stations - as long as you are able to interact with a person (and bear in mind these involves more than just speaking - body language, eye contact etc) and display some empathy then I don't think you should be too worried.

You should have social skills, be able to display empathy and communicate well.

You do not need to be "outgoing" or loud or any similar adjectives you can think of.
