I'm looking to study medicine or occupational therapy, entering uni in 2018 (but I'll graduate 2017). I'm moved back to England having lived away for 12 years around the world for so needing to have work experience is something I'm new to. I live in Birmingham and have contacted all the NHS hospitals near me through their work experience team. Out of the 8 I've contacted, 2 haven't replied despite me resending the email multiple times, 2 haven't replied on my placement, despite my multiple queries (i've already filled in all the forms and as I'm a private candidate my dates for placements are really open), 2 have stated I'm not in the catchment area and the other hasn't replied to my initial email asking for help/forms regarding work experience. I heard from students its about who you know, and that you really have to continue contacting people to get any sort of response? I've contacted everyone available under every department yet am having no luck. Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed, or any helpful experience?
