Is this a good or bad idea?

There js a girl who I think is sooo cute and I have some feelings. I have only spoken to her once very briefly, i started conversations but I dont always go to talk to her because I dont want to look desperate, I dont want to be the idiot if she doesnt like me back so I treat her like any other aquaintance especially because she is usually with her friends. If she was sitting alone I would go and talk to her. I have no intention to follow her on social media aswell because I want to be in control, I dont want to be the one who gets rejected/ignored ffs because it has happend before a few times. This is me trying to a cool and independent man is this what I am meant to do.

We have no classes in common. Honestly all I want is advice.

I thought I had a chance with her but tbh im probably wrong
