Anyone seen this? It's absolutely ridiculous.

While it's true that for some people with schizophrenia it does vary in intensity, but to say it's not a mental disorder at all? Wtf. From statistics I've read, about 1/3 of people with schizophrenia do not recover at all, while another 1/3 have a more up and down disease pattern.

I know Pakistan is backward in many ways, but this really takes the cake. No doubt it will lead to even more ostracism of people with mental illness in a country and people who already are less than understanding.

Not to mention 8000 people on death row. :s-smilie: That's one and a half times more than the USA, even with the US's much larger population. I support the death penalty, but that is just absurd.

Considering that people in Pakistan kill women for being liberal, it's not much of a surprise. They're very much still a country with primitive laws and traditionalist philosophy.

Didn't Muhammad see the archangel Gabriel come down to him and preach the word of God? I'm guessing they wouldn't like people to start thinking their beloved prophet was a schizo.
Then wtf is it?

rumbled
this is madness
They're just hurting themselves, ironically. When you makes laws like this it just means you have no medication to treat your own people.
Pakistan is a backward country. Having said that, if my mother was murdered by someone who had schizo, I would still want that person put down, I don't care what mental state they were in during the act.

And what if your mother was murdered by somone with no mental health issues, can't tell if you are just thinking of the stereotype that people with mental illness are a time bomb of violence or just a general statement.
