Long story short, I wanted to do History at university. I got an A* at GCSE and I was certain I'd enjoy it at sixth form.
Due to some issues I had with the teacher, and my mental health making me struggle to attend his lessons (we had two teachers, the other I was fine with), I had to drop history. I took up product design in its place, and I know it's a weird subject to replace it with, but now I have almost no chance of doing what I wanted, and none of my other subjects fit together well. (didn't take maths or another science, so I can't do a chemistry degree at a Russell group, and my other subjects are a weird mix)
I aim to go to a Russell group university, my main goal was German with history at Durham, but because I dropped history all chances of doing that are gone. I know some universities don't require A-level history, but obviously my goal was to attend Durham, where it is required.
So honestly, is it possible to teach myself A-level history? It's a subject I am massively interested with, and I love to read books around it in my free time anyway.
How do I go about it if it is possible? I already take 4 A-levels at sixth form, one is an AS so I could potentially drop it at the end of this year (and it seems likely), is it a good idea or not?
