Masters - could I possibly get a first with these results?

Hello,

My GPA altogether works out at 17.256 - I have looked according to my university guidelines, and this is an upper second class (between 17.0 and 17.9) or first (discretion). Obviously the board hasn't made a final decision, however I was reading that some people can be awarded a first with a 17.1 for example - such as the performance in the final year being strong (I did a 2 years Masters). My grades for the final year were 4 As, and 3 Bs. I got a distinction in my dissertation, and I was also awarded a scholarship in my second year for my performance in the first year - I achieved the best GPA out of my class for what I perceived to be a mediocre performance.

Could it be possible to get a first?

Edit: this should be in postgrad support, sorry!

This doesn't sound like the UK system at all. Which country are you talking about? This is a UK website so you may struggle to find people who know about the system on here.
