He's not wrong - all the rest are pretty irrelevant to medicine (however much they may sound alike). There's no real difference in terms of relevance between a BSc in genetics, biology or biomedical sciences - they're all totally unlike medicine, so it's a bit pointless arguing over minor differences.
Do something that fits with an alternative career plan as in 3-4 years time you may have decided you have done enough studying and not want to do any more/ be a doctor
