Bringing a Desktop Computer

Well i just spent £800 for a top end desktop computer but im worried if i should bring it or not. should i or should i not?

i'm bringing my £2500 pc into halls, just get insurance for your room, i'm gettin my insurance with natwest. Try any bank which does student accounts.

What is the chance of a laptop being nicked?

Are the wire locks any deterrant?

I am only bringing a $499 dollars Dell special,however it's like 499 pounds in the UK!!!!!
I'm just hoping there's in-room internet in all of the halls.

is it really not safe to bring a laptop?!?

I'll be living at Stamford St. and I will be extremely careful ... just wondering if there's anything I should know (like if laptop theft is a problem in halls?)

Havn't heard anything about a real theft problem and I plan on bringing a laptop rather than a desktop!
