Question for anyone at Uni now
I have resits in 2 of the same module within my first year.

I didnt go to my first resit because i KNEW I couldnt pass it, I'm so bad at it. I have the second one tomorrow - of which I'm going to try and get the highest grade to make up for the lack of grade from my first exam.

Is it true that if you only fail one of the modules the you have to do it in your second year as your extra module (20 cred)

I'm alittle worried that I may have to redo the whole year, but I passed the other modules well.

    Thanks!

i am in the same situation. i have a first class honours but my grades were deffered cos i have two exams as a result of illness..now im made to realise that if i fail anyone that i would have to repeat the whole year because to my understanding, they are core modules..the sad part is passes need to progress cos they all got passess in core subject while i might be subjected to repeat with my honours...so id sayconfirm if they are not core modules cos if they are, you screwed if u fail

****. It was one of the ones that I had to do as part of my first year, although I can choose not to do it next year. I will have to email my tutor

im getting really worried. im just finished 1st year BA Econ, but failed 2 modules, one of them not even gaining the compensatable fail mark. i then resat them and don't think i did much better in either. they're not core modules for what i want to specialise in, but they were compulsory this year. i was reading in a booklet i was given that exclusion is a possibility, how likely is it that they resort to this?
    Thanks

I just finished first year, i failed one module but got 32 so it was enough that i didnt have to resit. I have heard that they can exclude you but its up to them, and if they think you will be able to handle the second year. Your only other option if they dont accept you back on the course is re apply to a different course through clearing.

At worst they will put you on the ordinary degree. I was in the identical position (failed 10071 and 10072).
