C4 Maths question help

Hi,

How would I go about solving this question?

"Express (x^2 + 1)/(x^2 - 1) in terms of a quotient and remainder in the form of partial fractions?'

Thanks a lot.

Long division.

Could you show me how to do it? I keep trying and keep getting the wrong answer, not sure where I'm going wrong. Thanks

This is exactly what I got. Would that give the answer 1 + 2/(x^2 - 1)? If so the book may be wrong. Thanks.
