University English language requirements!!!

I'm currently taking A Levels in England, however instead of GCSE's, I did the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, where I achieved 5 out of 7 in Standard Level English. Can anyone tell me if this is the same as when universities say they want IB SL English Level 5?? As I've read to confirm that the MYP IB is equivalent to traditional programmes such as GCSE's.

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

Just quoting in Danny Dorito so she can move the thread if needed :wizard:

That should be fine - double check by contacting the universities you're interested in directly.

Bad luck :frown: It's not apparently, unless I've completed the full IB diploma, but apparently getting an equivalent of B+ / A- at GCSE equivalent and then being predicted A* and A in two essay subjects and A* in an EPQ (again essay) is not enough to show my level of english! Gonna have to pay over £200 for IELTS test and an online course now :/
