I do like watching a bit of world class athletics and will probably follow the DL, may even attend the London Grand Prix as it's likely to be the last at Crystal Palace. But, and this is a big but, running and actively competing in athletics share half of my spare time with watching football. Competitive athletics is my passion. As such, for me there's a melancholic side to being in the crowd, none more so than when my own training partner got selected for a UKA development race and I didn't: even though our training was more or less the same, he was just faster! I know I'm nowhere near good enough to be on the national let alone international stage, but the feeling of envy dies hard.
Ooo I might wanna go then 
or maybe next year. Definitely going to Meeting Areva next year!

Depends on if Bolt's going to be there though because then it'll probably be on BBC3 like it was last year

haha yup, it's a bit of a disadvantage at times though as I'd love to be able to watch not so prominent athletes sometimes and end up having to watch them weeks later on a poor quality youtube clip

I think it'll happen soon though mind you, especially since Eastenders omnibus was taken off air to pave the way for the upcoming sporting season

I think Bolt runs in quite a few of the world challenge meets as well - Ostrava for example

Yea - she ran one a few days ago in Kawasaki I think? 11.22, not bad for a 200/400 specialist! Her PB is actually quite good too - 10.93!
Ah thats a shame I kinda wanted to see Wallace Spearmon, he wasn't around last season

That's exactly how I feel!
People only get excited about the Olympics..
they forget all about the Diamond League, Aviva Grand Prix, Greater Manchester citygames etc. etc..
or maybe next year. Definitely going to Meeting Areva next year!
