100h, Pearson slowly getting there, but I'm gonna change my prediction to harper and she may run 12.4-5 Rollins will be nowhere to be seen, burn out and the times at the us trials are flawed because most athletes who produced those fast times haven't replicated it outside the states.

I think Rollins can medal, I reckon it'll just be a case of whether the pressure gets to her. She showed her ability at the trials though by beating Wells, Harper and Jones!

Gonna be a great duel between Barshim and Bondarenko! Kynard isn't so far behind either.

She'll medal but its bronze at best IMO

Since her 22.13 in Kingston, she hasn't done anything during her diamond league meets in the event

Gemili's definitely capable of getting into the final, but yea he'll probably need to PB to get in. Oh GBR need to sort out their men's relay..when was the last time they got it right?! If they have smooth handovers they'll have a great shout for a medal!

46.10 is not bad for a 200m specialist! I agree he probably could run pretty well if he worked at it. I'm impressed by his 200 PB, 20.4 is very decent for a young guy like him. It might improve his speed for the 400 if he did a few early seasons 200s - that's if he starts to chase that 43.18 aha.

Oh I wasn't actually in the stadium haha, just meant watching them live really pissed me off that I didn't get to watch his Berlin 100 live! Definitely, minor medals really are wide open - could be Gatlin, Carter, Bailey Cole, Rodgers, Vicaut, Dasaolu!

That sounds encouraging, fingers crossed for big names for the sprints.

Haha it is, I'm going to pick the sessions I watch carefully..it was even worse in Daegu, I only woke up for the 100 and 200 heats though at like 3am aha its a shame the "evening" sessions end up being afternoon sessions over here i.e. 2pm-5pm!

I reckon so...given that there are some big names out, he may slip in with a 20.2 clocking. Hard to say what everyone is going, no idea what the track or the conditions are like. Lol yeah haven't got the relay right the last 2 times I've seen it. It's the Gemili changeover both times, but that could be a coincidence. Think the bronze could be there for the taking, but would need USA or Jamaica to choke for anything more I reckon. They're just streets ahead of the rest of the world.
46.10 is a damn good starting point to work from. Given that Weir isn't as good a 100m runner as a 200m (PB of 10.02) you can see that he's probably a flyer type rather than an explosive. He looks to have a good rhythm in the 200m, so I'd fancy that he could definitely be a sub 45 runner at 400 if he trained for it. He's only 23, so he's got a lot of time to bring his times down.
I reckon 20.4 is alright, but it's not amazing. I know this sounds harsh, but he ran an indoor 400m in 2011 in 44.80 (WR is 44.57) and his first 200m split was 21.19. I know the first 200m of an indoor 400 is always likely to be fast, but I think it shows he does have that speed. Merritt ran a sub 20 in 2007 and Johnson obviously had that WR for so long in the 200m. I think getting down towards the WR is going to come from better ground speed because he's so strong in the final 100m it shows he has the endurance, and I always shout at the tv when he's running that he needs to be more aggressive through the first 200m, because when he has lost this season it's been because he's been too conservative and left himself too much to do!
As a sidenote, was reading about Merritt's drug ban for DHEA, and apparently it's effects are barely distinguishable from a placebo. Not sure how that makes me feel, but I googled DHEA and it's so easy to get your hands on. You can order it straight off the internet no questions asked. It's so weird, because it's dirt cheap and doesn't come with any sort of "athlete" warning. It's just marketed as a dietary supplement. Hmmm
Ahhh haha, rightt! Yeah know what you mean, caught the 9.58 and 19.19 live thankfully. Was going beserk. Yeah with you on that, it's a different sort of exciting knowing how open it is. Massive shame Kim Collins isn't in the champs, because I think this year he would have had an outside chance of sneaking in there.
Haha, think it's the only thing that I could bear to voluntarily get up at 6am for....either that or I record it and avoid all social media and switch off my phone til I've caught up! haha! Yeahh kinda annoying that it won't be on to watch in the evening.

Great predictions. You reckon K Borlee will be up in the medals though? HJ is gonna be an amazing competition, would be so good to see Bondarenko break the WR at the champs!

Tbh could be a toss up for the bronze wouldn't mind Borlee with a medal though. Yeah looking forward to the high jump

Interesting point there - he does have potential. His 100 PB isn't so bad, so he clearly has range. Be interesting to see what he does over the next 5 seasons or so!
