100m bolt will win in 9.65-9.75
100m safp or okagbare(half decent start) can go sub 10.7

100h, Pearson slowly getting there, but I'm gonna change my prediction to harper and she may run 12.4-5 Rollins will be nowhere to be seen, burn out and the times at the us trials are flawed because most athletes who produced those fast times haven't replicated it outside the states.

110h
Merrit is still avourite for me, but I can't see a sub 13 this year..

PPP is Pedro Pablo Pichardo

Buzza should have read Essa the 2.40 high jumper

I think Rollins can medal, I reckon it'll just be a case of whether the pressure gets to her. She showed her ability at the trials though by beating Wells, Harper and Jones!

Do you think SAFP will medal in the womens 200?

Gonna be a great duel between Barshim and Bondarenko! Kynard isn't so far behind either.

She'll medal but its bronze at best IMO

Good shout I reckon for that. Been really impressed with Okagbare setting numerous PBs and still doing some long jumping. Props.

Gemili's definitely capable of getting into the final, but yea he'll probably need to PB to get in. Oh GBR need to sort out their men's relay..when was the last time they got it right?! If they have smooth handovers they'll have a great shout for a medal!

46.10 is not bad for a 200m specialist! I agree he probably could run pretty well if he worked at it. I'm impressed by his 200 PB, 20.4 is very decent for a young guy like him. It might improve his speed for the 400 if he did a few early seasons 200s - that's if he starts to chase that 43.18 aha.

Oh I wasn't actually in the stadium haha, just meant watching them live  really pissed me off that I didn't get to watch his Berlin 100 live! Definitely, minor medals really are wide open - could be Gatlin, Carter, Bailey Cole, Rodgers, Vicaut, Dasaolu!

That sounds encouraging, fingers crossed for big names for the sprints.

Haha it is, I'm going to pick the sessions I watch carefully..it was even worse in Daegu, I only woke up for the 100 and 200 heats though at like 3am :colone: aha its a shame the "evening" sessions end up being afternoon sessions over here i.e. 2pm-5pm!

I reckon so...given that there are some big names out, he may slip in with a 20.2 clocking. Hard to say what everyone is going, no idea what the track or the conditions are like. Lol yeah haven't got the relay right the last 2 times I've seen it. It's the Gemili changeover both times, but that could be a coincidence. Think the bronze could be there for the taking, but would need USA or Jamaica to choke for anything more I reckon. They're just streets ahead of the rest of the world.
46.10 is a damn good starting point to work from. Given that Weir isn't as good a 100m runner as a 200m (PB of 10.02) you can see that he's probably a flyer type rather than an explosive. He looks to have a good rhythm in the 200m, so I'd fancy that he could definitely be a sub 45 runner at 400 if he trained for it. He's only 23, so he's got a lot of time to bring his times down.
I reckon 20.4 is alright, but it's not amazing. I know this sounds harsh, but he ran an indoor 400m in 2011 in 44.80 (WR is 44.57) and his first 200m split was 21.19. I know the first 200m of an indoor 400 is always likely to be fast, but I think it shows he does have that speed. Merritt ran a sub 20 in 2007 and Johnson obviously had that WR for so long in the 200m. I think getting down towards the WR is going to come from better ground speed because he's so strong in the final 100m it shows he has the endurance, and I always shout at the tv when he's running that he needs to be more aggressive through the first 200m, because when he has lost this season it's been because he's been too conservative and left himself too much to do!
As a sidenote, was reading about Merritt's drug ban for DHEA, and apparently it's effects are barely distinguishable from a placebo. Not sure how that makes me feel, but I googled DHEA and it's so easy to get your hands on. You can order it straight off the internet no questions asked. It's so weird, because it's dirt cheap and doesn't come with any sort of "athlete" warning. It's just marketed as a dietary supplement. Hmmm
Ahhh haha, rightt! Yeah know what you mean, caught the 9.58 and 19.19 live thankfully. Was going beserk. Yeah with you on that, it's a different sort of exciting knowing how open it is. Massive shame Kim Collins isn't in the champs, because I think this year he would have had an outside chance of sneaking in there.
Haha, think it's the only thing that I could bear to voluntarily get up at 6am for....either that or I record it and avoid all social media and switch off my phone til I've caught up! haha! Yeahh kinda annoying that it won't be on to watch in the evening.

Yea I really wanna know what the track is like, all I know is that its blue - just like Berlin and Daegu!

Aha dear dear dear Gemili. They also had that batongate in Daegu with America..Harry AA was too dench for his lane haha. Yea I really can't see past A Jamaica, USA 1-2 finish.

Interesting point there - he does have potential. His 100 PB isn't so bad, so he clearly has range. Be interesting to see what he does over the next 5 seasons or so!

So true, he definitely needs to stop being conservative on his first 200. Leaves too much room for Merritt..I think he'll try and go out hard in the final out of fear haha. 44.8 is pretty good, and thats an impressive split. So he just needs to work on his speed really

Thats ridiculous, shows why athletes end up taking things without a realisation it's not legal. I suppose they should be more responsible for themselves though. Speaking of drugs, any more news of Tyson Gay's case?

Haha historic moments. I feel so sorry for Kim Collins :frown: he needs to run for another federation!

Aha good idea, definitely avoid everything on the day of the 200 final, but at least you'll catch the 100 final (if you don't work on a Sunday!) live!

Would be good to see a medal from Europe and actually looking at his SB he might be in with a shout. He's run around the same as Masrahi, McQuay, Miller, and Santos this season. I think if Santos goes through the heats well, he may put together a really good race in the final even though he's had a pretty mediocre season by last year's standards.
Man the time is going so slowly, been reading all the previews, watching all the meets this season on eurosport, cant wait for it to start

Only bad thing is that i have to wake up at 5.30 so i dont miss when it starts at 6.

The womans sprints are tastier than the mens ones.

Haha really like blue tracks actually to run on. Oh my god yeah! Obviously was tragic for the USA team, but how funny was it, can't remember exactly who was running for the USA but he practically somersaulted or Harry's arm. He needs a bigger lane for that bend haha!
Yeah 10.02 is decent, but his 2nd 100m split for the 200m must be crazy. Hypothetically if he ran his 200 pb with a 10.02 first 100m split, then he'd run a 9.77 second split. Know that that isn't really very scientific or accurate, but my point is he's going to have a 100m split somewhere in the 200m that's well under 10s! Yeah couldn't agree more, that's incredible range to run close to 10s, a sub 20, then a 46.1. He's a very exciting athlete at the moment!
I'm with you on James! I think the lane draw for the final could be very interesting (as to whether James is chasing Merritt or vice versa). I think James would like Merritt to be outside him so he gets pulled through the first 200m strongly, and then can push on from there. Yeah 44.8 indoors for such a big guy is mightily impressive. Do you know if he's finished college yet? The college season is so long!
With regards to Gay, did you hear just over a week ago that he also tested positive at hte US trials so he has 2 positive samples now, and the B-sample from May 16th has come back positive as well. Still nobody has said what substance he's tested positive for. It's all pretty hush hush. This is quite an interesting article you may enjoy: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/athletics/americans-belated-arrival-at-world-championships-earns-frosty-welcome-after-tyson-gays-positive-drugs-test-8751140.html
Haha, did you see on twitter he was joking around about joining Ireland for the World Champs? Would have been great, but really hope him and the athletics federation in St Kitts and Nevis can resolve their differences. He's still a great athlete.
Ah man haven't even looked at the schedule yet. What are the key days not to work on? Think I'm working inbetween sessions on Sunday which is lucky!
Do you get your results next week mate?
