When were you are York Alistair? And were you in Derwent?
I was there from 2003-2006. Was in James, just looked in this thread as there weren't any others with replies!

Don't bother trying to resist Facebook, you'll get it eventually, the sooner you give in, the easier it'll be on your pride and getting it up and running!
I only resisted on principle, but it's very useful/fun. Do it!
    Done it

Does anyone know (seems to be a few ppl in this position on facebook) whats going on with the Vanbrugh people living in derwent? Where are they going to put them all? And they would have told us if we were sharing, right?!
And has anyone got any pic of any Derwent rooms in D block? Impatience is a virtue lol.
And do all the rooms in derwent have sinks, even the ones with a or b after the number?
    thanks
    xxx

That's where I stayed in my first year! It's absolutely ace, but I'm afraid there are no ensuites in House 2! I loved my first year there (2005). If you want to know anything else just ask.

It's across the road from Derwent and so newer (it's often referred to as Derwith, aka, the Derwent/Langwith extension blocks). The bedrooms are large. The kitchen isn't so great, get used to cooking on the worst appliances ever!

It is a lot of fun though and you'll love it there.

Make sure you get your housemates out to Slag 'n' Drag (the first Club D) especially!

Most rooms that I can think of will have a wardrobe, a desk with a couple of drawers in, a small set of drawers and a couple of shelves. The beds I remember also has some space under them too (I think )

In derwent do they all have sinks as well? my room has a small letter a after it (Do20a) I know its a wierd question its just I have an electric toothbrush and contact lenses so it would be v useful to have a sink! And are we allowed to stick posters and pictures up on the wall (with white/blue tack)?
    thanks

yeah they all have a sink+mirror+light+socket etc so don't worry. there's a tiny little heater but it's pretty ineffective so bring blankets. also when i was there there was only one normal plug socket so bring a multi-way adaptor thingy. I think you're technically not allowed to blue-tac stuff on the walls (most rooms have a noticeboard on one wall where you are) but everyone does anyway
