Re: Derwent College FreshersDoes anyone know (seems to be a few ppl in this position on facebook) whats going on with the Vanbrugh people living in derwent?(Original post by aelred89)
Hi all, I'll be in Derwent Block A untill 17th November when i move into the new Vanbrugh accomodation
Where are they going to put them all? And they would have told us if we were sharing, right?!
And has anyone got any pic of any Derwent rooms in D block? Impatience is a virtue lol.
And do all the rooms in derwent have sinks, even the ones with a or b after the number?
thanks

Re: Derwent College FreshersThat's where I stayed in my first year! It's absolutely ace, but I'm afraid there are no ensuites in House 2! I loved my first year there (2005). If you want to know anything else just ask.(Original post by Thrash)
Hey hey, am derwent house 2 block e
and i cant seem to find anyone else anywhere who is aswell lol... all the block e people on facebook seem to be house 1 :
It's across the road from Derwent and so newer (it's often referred to as Derwith, aka, the Derwent/Langwith extension blocks). The bedrooms are large. The kitchen isn't so great, get used to cooking on the worst appliances ever!
It is a lot of fun though and you'll love it there.
Make sure you get your housemates out to Slag 'n' Drag (the first Club D) especially! -
Re: Derwent College Freshers
Hehe nice
if you have any photos of rooms i know lotsa people on facebook are interested if you have any you could post on there?
Ah i can cook on anything... whether its edible or not is a different question!
My sis has already found me a dress and a feather boa... i am quite disturbed but am sure alcohol will help ;P -
Re: Derwent College FreshersMost rooms that I can think of will have a wardrobe, a desk with a couple of drawers in, a small set of drawers and a couple of shelves. The beds I remember also has some space under them too (I think(Original post by Thrash)
Ooo question... you said bigger rooms, what in of storage is there in the rooms? E.g. is there room to dump stuff under the beds or is it a case of making the best use of floor space :P?

Re: Derwent College FreshersIn derwent do they all have sinks as well? my room has a small letter a after it (Do20a) I know its a wierd question its just I have an electric toothbrush and contact lenses so it would be v useful to have a sink! And are we allowed to stick posters and pictures up on the wall (with white/blue tack)?(Original post by Roger Kirk)

Re: Derwent College Freshersyeah they all have a sink+mirror+light+socket etc so don't worry. there's a tiny little heater but it's pretty ineffective so bring blankets. also when i was there there was only one normal plug socket so bring a multi-way adaptor thingy. I think you're technically not allowed to blue-tac stuff on the walls (most rooms have a noticeboard on one wall where you are) but everyone does anyway(Original post by space hopper)
