Putney is a much nicer area than Walworth, but if you're not actually living there then does it really matter? Just pick the one that's easiest to get to for you lol.

I used to regularly travel from Putney to Russell Square and it's not a bad journey, tube from Putney Bridge to Earl's Court, then Piccadilly Line to Russell Square, it used to take me about half an hour.

Putney is a much nicer area. Stay far away from Walworth.

Walworth is nice enough and much MUCH closer to things. Putney is miles away.

(*is living in Walworth*)

Depends what exact bit of Walworth I suppose. I'm right near Old Kent Road.
I hate Old Kent Road.

What did it do to you? It has a massive Tesco - nearby food and millions of good bus links ftw!
It's ugly and dodgy the only good thing about it is Tesco. It's the grimiest place I've been to in London...

You obviously have not been to many places.

Old Kent Road is positively luxurious compared to most of Hackney.
I've been to most of central London, Bermondsey, Mile End, Stratford, Cyprus, Greenwich, Lewisham, Hampstead, Richmond, Elephant & Castle, White City, Ladbroke Grove, Fulham, Kentish Town, Penge, Hammersmith, Barnes, Barons Court, etc... though no Hackney.

I lived about five minutes from Old Kent Road last year. It's tolerable, but not a very pleasant area to live in, IMO.

 at the neg rep...

Which road did you live in?

One of my dad's clients (millionaire) lives in Putney so it can't be bad.

Which road did you live in?

Grange Road. Near the top of Old Kent Road...

Ah yeah, I saw a property there. It was dire. Bad part of Bermondsey.

My road is nice.
