Income tax on 2 part time jobs
I've just started a second part time job, it's only for three weeks until uni and the hours are such that even with both jobs I'm going to be way under the £5035 limit. I've never been taxed on the first job but now I've been told by somebody that your income from the second job will automatically be taxed regardless. Is there any way to prevent this happening in advance (would calling up Revenue & Customs do anything useful?), or if not then how quickly can you get the tax back? The whole point of the second job was to earn for my first term of uni and now I find out that the taxman is going to be taking nearly a quarter of it..not good! Please tell me I don't have to wait until the end of April to get it back, which is what somebody I know was told to do?
