Change of course?

Im due to start Hudd this sept.. well, in a couple of weeks!

Im down to study "English language with journalism" but am starting to wonder if i've picked the best course to get me to where i want to go.

Im more (well, only) interested in print based journalism, ie writing for newspapers and magazines, and ideally would like to cover just music journalism come a career choice.

I turned down a place at another uni doing only "music journalism" as a course as i felt it would limit my options too much when im out of uni and looking for a job (im thinking if you can prove you can write about different areas you'll have more of a chance of getting a job right?!)

From reading things on here there seems to be a lot of English based student, so it would be nice to get an input into my best choices!

Cheers Guys

It depends on how focused and specialised the course is I think.

For instance doing a degree in computer science is better than doing a degree in computer games programming and the same goes for doing a degree in 3D visual arts in bournemouth than doing a computer games design course.

The only thing that the more specialised courses lack is the industry touch to that specific course, like you would recieve information on how games companies function and so on where in computer science you wouldn't.

Whatever you do, don't worry too much about chaning courses, if its really not right for you its not the end of the world for changing over.
