Need to pay for my accomodation before I arrive
I need to pay £1400 on my accomodation before I move in but my finance isn't due to arrive until I am actually at uni.

I set up a halifax student account over the internet and I'm going to go in tomorrow and pay some money in, plus provided some ID so my account can be activated. I'm also gotta talk about getting my overdraft. How long does it usually take for overdrafts to come through as I really need mine to be there in time.

They should be able to approve you an overdraft there and then, then you wait around 7-10 working days for a new bank card, though they should be able to give u ur account details so u can set up standing orders and things.
