Brighton Uni - Halls Internet Access?

I found on the Brighton website about their internet network regulations etc.
But does anyone know if they are actually enforced, i'm and avid gamer and would be greatly dissapointed if after a long day in uni i couldnt come back to halls kick back and game.

I read that they also block IM eg MSN/Yahoo etc, is this true, it seems a bit extreme for something so small?

I'd like to know about this too. It's actually pissed me off quite a bit. And I know it sounds silly but it's a big thing. How can you block MSN? It's like the one thing people are gonna wanna use away at uni to talk to their mates. And it just seems retarded. I'm staying in Mouslecoomb btw, or will be anyway.
