Power of attorney

Does anyone have or knows where i can get an 'ordinary power of attorney form' so that my parents can sign for my uni stuff and bank stuff etc whilst I'm away on my gap year.

obviously if someone manages to find me one, which i'm not expecting, they will be rewarded with rep, which is the least i can do as it would cost me a lot more to goto the lawyers.

Aren't there two types?

One is an ordinary Power, ideal for people off to Uni, out of the country for a while etc. It can be revoked at any time by the person who signed it originally. It is invalid if you lose your mental faculties. This is the one the original poster wanted. It appears not to be availible on the web, but can be ordered from any legal stationers. As it is not enduring, it doesn't need to involve the Court of Protection etc, so there is no standard form per se.

The other, which I think is what you linked to, is more for people who are going to decline in their health and mental abilities. If you no longer are deemed mentally capable, it cannot be revoked without going to the Court of Protection. Often they are made with the condition that they only become active, upon loss of mental ability.

Dave below has descired the difference perfectly

ordinary: works immediately or whenever you want it to start from but becomes invalid if you become mentally incapacitated
enduring:works immediately or whenever you want it to start from but is still valid if you become mentally incapactitated

i don't need the enduring part but having it won't do any harm.
