Getting the barcode scanned for loans.
    Hi

Since we register as students online, when do we get the barcode scanned for our loans and grants to be released?

Can't find anything in the mountain of paperwork I got that tells me.

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

Yikes, I could really do with knowing about this as well. The loan business has been such a pain, and I'm completely sure I've lost or forgotten some really important piece of paper that the entire loan depends on! Has anyone else heard anything about their bursary? I can't remember whether I have or not...

Yes I had a letter confirming the bursary.

The piece of paper you need for your loan is the payment schedule. Loads of people haven't received it yet (including myself). Problem with the SLC apperantly. The payment schedule as the barcode you need scanner to get your loan. Just don't know where to get it scanned if/when the payment schedule arrives.

I havent gotten mine yet, spoke to SLC and Exeter and SLC had a problem, they should be there next week!!! But Exeter told me they dont actually need it, and it is done electronically anyway, and when I registered online it said i didnt owe anything, which is right. The lady I spoke to at exeter told me to keep the letter in case there is a problem.

    Hope that Helped.

So we don't need to get it scanned? All we need to do is register online?

Hi! Apparently because we register online, we don't need the letter with the barcode. However it says to take it to registration on the sheet because it's generic and some universities don't register online. Basically that form being scanned proves a student is actually studying at the university- since we registered online, that is proof we are there!

    Hope that makes sense!

Yay! Just checked my account and my money is in.

The next hurdle is to see how long I can keep it in there.

Good luck everyone on your first day.
