Oh it was so funny. Kind of harsh, but then again kinda funny.

Even before The Rasmus entered the main stage at Reading Festival yesterday, everyone was chucking mud and bottles at the set. Then when the did finally enter the stage, they were completely bombarded with water, bottles and mud. By the time they had finished one song, the stage was almost completely covered in mud and litter. The Rasmus, in desparation, tried to play another song but only got halfway through before they left the stage. Chairs were thrown at the stage amid the boos and shouts of "Get the f**k out of Reading," and flags displaying "Burn the Rasmus." The management told everyone that if they threw anything at the stage again they'd get chucked out.

Then later 50 Cent came on. This was sure to a classic. Some people were wearing T-shirts saying "Gay-Unit" and "50 c**t" (with a u replacing e). Because of the warnings earlier, people weren't throwing so much stuff, but just booed persistently throughout his songs, and chants of "B#ll#cks, b#ll#cks" flared up. He was meant to play for a hour, but left the stage after 25 minutes.

It was great. It wasn't so funny to The Rasmus, but to 50 Cent it was hilarious because he's just a ****.
I can't stand either of them, but it must be a bit gutting for people that actually wanted to see them no?

There's loads of stages, go see someone else...I don't understand why people would bother going to see someone they don't like just to take the piss...

That's why I didn't find The Rasmus being pelted so funny. I know some people there who came especially to see them. But 50 Cent should no way have been at Reading. If you want a hip-hop act on the main stage, Jay-Z, the Beastie Boys, ok but not some black rapper who loves himself and smothers himself in baby oil. He was a headlining act- due to play for an hour. What sh#t were the organisers on when they put him in such a prominant position? Obviously they thought he'd go down better with the crowd since they spent a lot of money on pyrotechnics, but ffs Reading, the main stage is predominantly a rock stage, not a black rapping stage. At least The Streets really worked with the crowd and got everyone laughing. We took the piss out of 50 Cent cos he needs to be taken down a level or two. He needs to learn that not everyone loves him, and just because he's rich doesn't mean he's popular. BTW, does anyone know if a similar thing happened at Leeds with the Rasmus and 50 Cent?

So if 50 Cent was white, It would be ok?

The fact he was a headlining act would mean that there would be loads of good bands on the other stages....wern't The Von Bondies on at the same time?

If I *had* to choose, I'd rather see 50 Cent than The Rasmus.

Sounds like the Reading crowd was hard to please, we had a sweet time in leeds...it was actually dry most of the time!! The Darkness put a right good show on even though I'm not really into their music so much.

50 Cent is just ****ing horrible, why the heck was he on at a rock festival? The Rasmus are equally awful and worse than 50 Cent though.

Bottling 50 cent was a f***ing retarded thing to do.
Lobbing bottles filled with mud from 100m back and knocking out members of the crowd is another thing altogether.

Yes and they were pretty good!

I didn't see The Rasmus bottling but was curious as to why they inspired so much hatred? I wouldn't have minded seeing them, personally. Also what was with all the timing mess-ups yesterday? It was impossible to know when things were happening.

I'm no a 50 Cent fan, but I felt really bad for him during his bottling. The organisers must have known that it was going to happen and his management should really have done some research about Reading before agreeing to play it! Idiots all.

Was anyone else robbed at the festival? Someone came into our tent while we were sleeping, took his shoes off (!) and climbed all the way to the end of out tent in order to steal cash from my two friends (not from me as mine was down the bottom of my sleeping bag!), but not our mobiles which were all too crap to merit stealing. I can't believe none of us woke up, but am very glad that that was the case!

Ooof, so glad to be home and clean and not wearing wellies .

If 50 Cent was white, he couldn't rap about him and his *******. He's also a prick, and so many people helped him to stardom, then he claims he did it all by himself.

We only went to 50 Cent rather than other stages to get him off and Green Day on, and also to make a point to the organisers not to put such s*#te on the line-up again.

The Rasmus got bottled because they are like a commercial rock "boy-band." People didn't like them because they tried to have an image of being gothicky, yet their songs aren't. They are trying to commercialise goth rock, like Busted commercialised punk rock.

And the timing mess-ups were so annoying! My friend wanted to get The Rasmus' autograph at the signing tent. She saw there were signing at 1, so we arrived just after 1 to find the slot had been changed to 12 and she couldn't! Plus, I went outside to get my fake merchandise and Reading T-shirt (like you do), and came back to find I'd missed nearly all of The Dropkick Murphys I thought I'd got back just in time to see them starting.

Oh well, Reading Fest still rocked! Definitely coming back next year. Camping. In the guest area.

Punk Rock was commercialised long before Busted came along...if you're gonna 'blame' anyone, blame Greenday...
