for any particular reason? its a website owned by a friend that im happy to plug. its biggest criticism would be that the content is a little dry.

oh come on, the initial load up page is blatant admittedly, but its a caricature...i find it sexy in a detached way.

There is nothing that I have against it.

The problem is, as byb3 pointed out, there are people of many ages viewing the boards, and Im fairly sure they (or their parents) would not expect to see that on an education forum.

its not on the forum, its a subtle link. im sure that if this forum is worth its salt, it will have a disclaimer to the effect of denying responsibility with regard to outside links.
any parent worth their salt will be using software that will easily pick up on the unnatural use of flesh colour or be supervising a younger child.

i will however, add something that may act as a warning.

The internet is the "birthplace of minds" not a sea of censorship. Lets face facts here boys. Most of you f**ktards don't have girlfriends (and if you do then they are mostly man-beasts) you all like a bit of porn.
Parents of children who shouldn't be seeing porn should be monitoring their children, not just with faggy software, but actually sitting down with them and censoring the content the request.
We don't shut down knife shops because children may run in and cut themselves-we rely on parents to control the children of whom they have legal custody.
Why have you all become grumpy old farts? You are allowed to have fun! Bend the rules-its what being a teenager is all about! I can't stand the way most of you have this "Victor Meldrew" attitude. You're young! Live!

Your post does not even merit a reply. Quite simply, you are an idiot.

Your logic is absurd. A normal child of nine isn't going to go on the net and type into the search engine "red hot XXXX girls". It is more likely they are going to want to look for Mickey Mouse. But when they type in the name of this innocent cartoon character they get images of him getting rammed up every hole by Pluto. Parents shouldn't have to monitor it, it should not be on the internet when quite clearly the chances of a child viewing it are high.

Don't get me wrong Mr Max Plank I certainly am not "Victor Meldrew". Porn has it's advantages and uses and is acceptable in a controlled environment where only the right people access it. Saying this isn't intended to spoil anyones fun, but merely to protect the innocent.

i think that is exactly the point he is making. the ways of the internet mean that monitoring a child is necessary to prevent such occurances. he seems to be more conscious of the evils of the net than the ideological 'soviet secret police' style censorship that is being promoted here.

Yes, but we are talking about 14 year olds year, not 9. You really think that a parent should sit down with a 14 year old and actively check every single link on the net, no matter what site they are on, just to make sure there is no porn? Please, lets be realistic here.

There should be certain sites (such as an education forum maybe..?) where they shouldn't have to check the links to make sure they are safe.

I agree sir. If a 9/10/11/12/13/14-> wants to look at porn then good look to them. That is there choice but, as you so rightly say, this is not a porn site and therefore should not contain inappropriate links.

if he/she is on an education forum thats where they should stay. if my link advertised advice or information i would agree fully, but expecting further censorship is sensationalist. perhaps if more effort was made by parents we wouldnt have the spate of internet related incidents with minors.i agree that this is certainly a grey area primarily because of the age.
