ahhh man I am so jealous! I am waiting for my bloody head of 6th form to proof my form before it can be sent off. It is so frustrating, I have been waiting since last Wenesday, and now he has no excuse, all the Oxbridge and Medicine ones have gone. GAH. I want to slaughter him.

I know the feeling! Mine said she'd send it off Monday and never did, then when she said she'd see me after school yesturday she didn't turn up! I've had it ready for 2 weeks now...

I'm applying to Royal Holloway, Birmingham, East Anglia, Essex and Kent

Good choices!!! i applied to RH, East anglia, and kent last year! East Anglia's auditions are sort of terrifying, i'll warn you now! Kent is fantastic!
Heya... I've just applied thought i'd post on this thread and chat to some fellow drama students! I've applied to Bristol, Queen Mary's, Exeter, Leeds and Plymouth. Really love Leeds and Exeter. Its a toss up between a great city with loads going on and what seems like a good course (Leeds), and a slightly quieter city with a great course (Exeter). Dunno yet?..
i got a reply from east anglia....i got offered english without drama.

itt was only a back up so im not really bothered, but worried now that the other drama ones wont accpt me cos they didnt. i loved bristol but thats harder to get into then east anglia

oo that's interesting, would you be happy to go there if you weren't doing drama? or would you turn it down?

teacher still hasn't sent mine. getting very very impatient- and wanting to start getting interviews! or rejections...

Just wondering if you guys are doin drama would you think of applying to specialist drama school (eg: Central school of speech and drama, Mountview academy of theatre arts etc)

Im at Mountview myself doin technical theatre and I was just wondering bout this....

thought about, and realised how much i want to go to University, and though a drama school would be 'higher education' etc, it wouldn't be the same...

Looked into it but realised I wanted to do Drama, not Acting.

I'm applying to
Bristol
Exeter
Lancaster
for deffo and toying between Manchester, Birmingham and JMU for the final 2.
I applied to drama schools and all that last year and didn't get in, realised that acting wasn't really for me, as much as I love it! Echoing what other people have said really!
I also thought about Warwick but seemed a bit too quiet for my liking, like one horse towns lol!
Anyone else applying to JMU? I really like the look of the course and LOVE Liverpool but my sister and parents (bit snobby) think that it's below me, grades wise cos I got AAA. What does anyone else think?
Also, anyone know what the audition requires, cos as far as I know, all the others I'm applying to just interview or do workshops, but I'm not sure on JMU...?

Don't know anything about JMU... but are you sure it will be an audition? i didn't think Universities auditioned as such, just interviewed, after all it isn't an acting course... :s-smilie: i dunno...
and if you love Liverpool, don't let your family put you off- what do they ask for? I got AAAA as AS levels and am still applying to Leeds with BBC because i loved it.

i just looked on their website again to check and it says you need to attend an interview and audition, i think it's quite a practical course so I'm guessing they want to see that I'm not a total spanner in a performance situation.
JMU also ask for BBC, I think I'm going to email them and see what the audition requires, always the best way!
Yeah I think with Unis its just as important to consider the actual places you're staying just as much as the course itself... for example UEA is much higher up in the league tables for Drama than some of the places I've applied to, but I know I'd hate it there.
Is it weird I'm getting excited about going to Uni already, when I haven't even decided fully where I want to go? Anyone else feeling like this?
It might be because I'm a UCAS veteran lol seeing as I did it all last year as well..
Anyone on this thred taking a gap year? I won't be going to uni till 2009 and will be twenty by then but am getting excited about uni already!

p.s does anyone know on average uni's take to reply to you?
Going to university after a gap year is no problem at all! On my course we have people who are 18, 19, 20, 21, 27, and 45. Its a huge mix and no one cares!

Some universities take ages, you'll literally be tearing your hair out. Others will reply soon.

Also, another Cheltenham'er! Whoooooooop!

They vary depending on how many applicants they get. Lancaster and Hull were both pretty quick- my Lancaster offer came 4 days after my interview- whereas Bristol took a lifetime. Most places tend to let you know interview offers a few weeks after you apply then wait another 3/4 weeks after the interview to let you know.

Uni's a year or two away for me but.. gotta start thinking about it! I was gonna go on to do a 3yr course called Police and Crimminal Investingation UCLAN as i wanted to go into the police.. still kinda do) but recently i've been thinking more seriously about doing something completely different and going into Drama! I need to start thinking which path to take now.. I'm not sure if i should consider applying to Drama Schools (which have a very Singing/Dance base to them (although i do neither.. triple threat i suppose)) or going doing a course at Uni.. or going down the safe route and sticking with my original idea..

Anybody got either own views on drama courses at uni, or at Drama school could give me a helping hand and give me some more infomation?

Ta muchly!
