but then it's always difficult to travel if you only speak English, even in Europe (at least parts) it's quite tricky isn't it?

Hmm, depends where you go. I went to Hungary and it was no problem. Not that many people spoke english, but we mastered the fine art of pointing and smiling :p:
the universal language of speaking louder, slower and pointing franticly?
I hope to go to Australia sometime within the next 3 years. If I don't meet anybody when I go to Uni that wants to go i'll most likely end up going alone!
