UK 3-year Degrees and Canada Postgrad study

Hi everyone,

I'm just about to finish a 3-year BSc Computer Science degree, and am going to apply to UBC, uToronto, McMaster and possibly one more (UCalgary, SFU or UAlberta... not sure) for an MSc in Computer Science. Will they accept my UK 3-year degree, or will I get flat-out rejected because it's not 4 years in length?

I would just apply and find out, but I don't feel like losing a lot of money for nothing really. If anyone has any advice that would be great.

Thanks.
Your degree will be taken as an equivalent to a four year degree. Stress that it was an honours degree as well and that should clear up any confusion. For U of T, you'll need a 2.1 minimum. You might want to consider Waterloo as well as it is definitely better than McMaster for computer science (though Mac is nothing to sneeze at either.

Thanks for the reply, that's a great help. I did actually look at Waterloo at one point, so I'll go back and assess my options.

Cheers.
