i was just wondering what the interview process was for philosophy?!
because ive heard that some people dont have interviews, and others have to write an essay on a philosophical issue and bring it in!
to me that seems pretty nerve racking though! i mean, will they ask you questions about it and stuff?
anyone who has any experience with this help would be a appreciated, thanks!

I'm doing Philosophy at York and I was never interviewed.
I don't believe York ever interviews for Philosophy. Does itinterview for any subject?

What about the lecturers?
No yummy lecturers that I have seen.
I think the chap that does Reason and Arguement (Barry Lee) is good, though.

Old Bazzer is good fun.
Seminars are also not so bad (phil ones), the only part of my course that actually fulfilled my expectations of university. Stupid pol and eco.

And I agree with The Solitary Reaper . . . the architecture being horrible was why I initialy decided not to go to York. I was too used to the Oxbridge image of university, all old buildings and seeping with history. But I was turned around =) and now I really like it here. The geese help make up for the concrete
