Don't know whether to go ahead with this

Im about to start a psychology degree but with the open univerisity but im wondering if it will be pointless. I mean will I have better employment prospects and increased average earning like other university students? Or will it be a waste of time? Im thinking of being a psychologist but would I need to go to a proper proffesional university to go in this direction?

A degree from the OU is as good as a degree from a full-time study institution as long as you have valid reasons for undertaking your study in that fashion.

What are valid reasons? I started uni but hated it so quit but have decided to do a degree again.

But you are working? Have to support a family? Have learning issues that mean that home-based study is the only viable option? A lot of employers will be interested by your decision to choose the OU over a full-time study pathway given that the raison d'etre of the OU is to provide access to higher education for those not traditionally in a position to take on such studies.
