hha .,..yeah funny one ; but thank you for pointing out :smile:

either a history book which you have enjoyed very much and gained many new information from there- and it must NOT require a great amount of history knowledge of history

or

a history book which would describe some key events in Europe (maybe with speacial emphasis on USSR)

Mark Mazower's Dark Continent, never read it myself but seems to be a fairly good synoptic view of 20th century European history. If you want something that will cover more than that then maybe try Simon Schama's history of britain books (theres three of them), they're not very good history books in an academic sense but they cover about 2000 years in total.

That or just look at wikipedia if all you need is a broad outline of what has happened.
