We may actually be losing our MAU (along with A&E and possibly some other acute services), but on the other hand, we are apparently getting a state of the art isolation ward.

My fave old MAU type acronym encountered so far has to be EMU (Emergency Medicine Unit)... People at this hosp still call it EMU even though it's now surgical too cos it's just such as damn fine name... "If anyone wants me, I'll be on EMU" :biggrin:
