Biology planning exercise.

Hi all I've been given a bio planning exercise to do.

The question is.

To ind the effect of temperature on ripening bananas, as measured by conversion of starch to sugar.

A bit of background knowledge.

Bananas cointain loats of carbohydrates, starch grains comprised of amylopectin and amylose.

a ripe bananas= less starch more sugar, as enzymes have broken down the starch to form sugar

an unripe bananas= more starch less sugar.

I've had a few ideas on how to conduct the experiment, but I would like a few more ideas.

I've already thought of using water baths at diff. temps and to make slides and count the number of starch grains.

Also using the starch test and sugar tests

anymore suggestions,

much appreciated
