Welcome to TSR General Election 2008, please read the manifesto's and vote for the party you wish to win the election.
THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED AS THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY MANIFESTO WAS OVER THE MAXIMUM LIMIT ALLOWED

TSR Conservative Party
Bringing a brighter future for tomorrows Britain
The Conservatives believe in non-intrusive government. Under New Labour government has grown and has imposed itself in too many places. We will cut away the excesses of big government.
The tax system will be re-organised and simplified, leaving a fairer and cheaper system. Council tax will be replaced with a tax dependent on earnings. Inheritance tax will be scrapped. We will end the unfair treatment of our pensioners and allow them to enjoy their retirement.
Senior Police Officers have complained that arbitrary police targets and paperwork are preventing them from tackling real crime. We will slash these allowing officers to be on the streets, preventing crimes. Community Support Officers will be retrained to become fully trained Police Officers.
A similar story emerges from the NHS and we promise to cut away targets and bureaucracy leaving a more cost-effective, efficient service. We will deliver a Health Service fitting for 21st Century Britain.
Under Labour the education of our children has suffered tremendously. We will invest in our future and promise an education tailored for the individual child.
Under Labour the Civil Service has swollen by 800,000 and we will audit the Service weaning out the duplication and waste.
We will invest in our Armed Forces to ensure that they are treated as befits the brave men and women that they are.
We promise to make Britain great once more. The Conservatives will push through what we have proposed and many more changes.
Vote for long-lasting prosperity, vote Conservative.

TSR Labour Party
Labour: progress and fairness through listening and learning
What do the TSR Labour Party stand for?
We envisage a society where every child born has a fair and equal chance in life with access to a high standard of education and health care. Where everyone is given the opportunity to achieve highly, irrespective of their backgrounds, with support in place for those who need it.
What have we achieved?
The Labour party have been one of the more active parties over the last year. In the last year we have:
• Given control of bus services back to local authorities.
• Reassessed Income tax.
• Introduced a levy on plastic bags to encourage reuse.
• Improved dentist provisions in the UK.
• Changed the way that languages are taught in England and Wales.
• Provided funding to encourage the use of renewable energy.
What next?
We hope to produce a bill improving educational provisions in prisons helping to address issues behind re-offending rates. We want to improve postgraduate funding making it easier for those who want to study beyond a first degree. We hope to encourage preschool education at home by providing books and learning materials to parents who are unable to afford them. We are currently discussing a bill surrounding health warnings on alcohol to tackle the problem of binge drinking. Britain is currently facing an STI epidemic that we will address by improving access to GUM clinics. We plan to continue our efforts to increase recycling in the UK both in industry and in the home.

Libertarian Party
n our last two terms we have passed very important bills in keeping with our party’s ideals and philosophies, and delivering on our previous election promises. These include:
- Abolishing ID Cards
- Repealing Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act
- Abolishing Inheritance Tax
- Repealing Incitement to religious hatred legislation
- Environmental legislation, notably the Container Bill.
- Scrapping London 2012 Olympics logo.
- Repealing parts of smoking ban.
- Making euthanasia legislation more lenient.
- Making legislation surrounding brothels more lenient.
We stress that we are also the only party dedicated to promoting what would be regarded as traditional Tory values, especially with regards to the economy and a more responsible society.
Encourage competition between schools.
Free up markets currently obstructed by unnecessary regulation.
Fully embrace market forces in trying to improve matters (internalising externalities including clean energy)
Much lower, more simplified tax system, help remove an unnecessary burden on the British people, fostering a freer economy.
Pledge for workable repeal to legalisation of cannabis and various other drugs. Cutting down on speed cameras et al. Repeal hunting ban
Absolute freedom of speech, except with incitement to murder or imminent violence.
Against unnecessary military intervention, support a stronger, more proactive UN.
A functional NHS.
Points system surrounding immigration, reflect the economic needs of the UK
Encourage people to take jobs if they are available - even if we get unemployed PhDs working at McDonalds by removing benefits for those who refuse.

Liberal Democrats
Education:
More choice available to students of 14 years – citizenship no longer mandatory, encourage teaching of foreign languages outside of the current law.
Abolish targets to stop schools from exam malpractice.
Abolish any plans to build new academy schools.
Environment:
Look into recycling further – scrap the postcode lottery on what can be recycled.
Invest more in offshore wind farms, wave and solar power.
Remove petrol and diesel cars by 2040 to eliminate emissions from transport and committing Britain to zero carbon power generation by 2050.
Crime:
Reform the law on rape. A rapist who has had a relationship with the victim is a mitigating factor, we oppose this. Falsely crying rape will have their identities revealed. Increases in sentences for rape are overdue.
Harsher penalties for those who kill behind the wheel under the influence and other reforms.
Sentences for imprisonment for one year or less will be replaced with longer alternatives.
Abolish 24 hour drinking.
Set in statute for 15 years imprisonment for murder before aggravating and mitigating circumstances.
Health:
Abolition of foundation hospitals.
Review of the current abortion law with a view to reduce the upper limit in most situations.
Allow patients to be treated by the private or voluntary sector or a hospital outside their area.
Constitutional:
Advocate a federal state ridding of the West Lothian Question – why have an MP from Scotland voting on a matter on England only?
Look into a constitutional court to look at human right cases instead of Europe.
---------------------------------------------------
Monster Raving Loony Party
In the last parliament the Loonies reduced the rate of crime to zero, solved the flooding crisis and introduced legislation to prevent boring MPs from being allowed to take office.
In this parliament the Loony Party will continue their sweeping reforms the decrepit political machine whilst continuing to address the issues that matter. We will:
-Replace the English symbol of three lions with three badgers to reflect more accurately the fauna of this great nation.
-Improve Britain’s contribution to the development of Iraq’s post war infrastructure by sending them all our traffic wardens.
-Demand that the European Union ceases its right centric discrimination by creating a "Court of Human Lefts."
-Boost the economy by introducing legislation to enforce a redesign of Sofas and Arm Chairs without gaps down the side. This will keep the millions of pounds of small change that gets lost in these gaps every year in circulation.
-Introduce separate passports for terrorists: Terrorists should be required to apply for separate passports in which they give their full contact details, the nature of any explosives they own, and time (as well as location) of any intended terrorist act. This would save time and money in gathering intelligence.
-Resolve the ludicrous situation that results of having only one Monopoly’s Commission. We propose to set up two independent enquires to deal with this twice and for all.
The House of commons at the moment is truly depressing; more than ever now it needs a loony government to make it fun again.

TSR Socialist Party
We are the TSR Socialist Party. Our struggle is the struggle for the Freedom and Liberty of all people. We don't believe in race or creed or nations. We believe in the common brotherhood of man.
What's our religion, they ask? The Struggle, we answer.
What's our nationality, they demand? None, we reply.
Well what country are you a citizen of, they say? We are citizens of the world, we cry!
We come to you with no dull list of policy initiatives. We have no 26-point plan to make Britain more capitalist. We will fight to further the rights of the workers, we will fight to make our institutions more democratic, we will fight for the right of all to a free education, we will fight for a world worth living in. We come to you with one promise – to fight inequality, privilege, bigotry and racism wherever and whenever we find it.
There is poverty across the globe, war and death in Iraq and Afghanistan, and everywhere the invisible dread hand of capitalism and the 'free' market takes its toll on men, women and children. The ever more sophisticated weapons piling up in the arsenals of the wealthiest and the mightiest may kill the illiterate, the sick, the poor and the hungry, but they cannot kill ignorance, illness, poverty or hunger. Only the Revolution can do that!
Vote Socialist! For the Struggle!
