If you mean just adding stuff up in a table - yes.

If the stuff to add up is in a row insert an extra column at the end for the total. Put the cursor in the blank cell and go table>formula. Word *should* suggest the formula =sum(left). Same thing for data in columns except you need to add a row - word should suggest =sum(above).

You could make it even niftier by finding a font to display tally marks instead of numbers in the table. First link on google for "tally font" has a suitable ttf for download.
