Well...you'd be better off asking someone at Cambridge but Churchill, Gonville and Caius (I think they're trying to increase their state intake) and definitely King's seem to like state-school applicants.
It doesnt really matter what institution you choose to study law at. Irrespective of whether its cambridge, Oxford or Timbucktooooo!

I was accepted to all 6 of my choices: Queen's Belfast, Dundee, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds.

I choose the one with the lowest entry requirements (which was Dundee - BBB) despite getting AAA in my A-levels.

The reasons ? there are no reasons

Dundee was the most impressive on the Open day and is ranked higher than even Manchester and Queen's when it comes to employment opportunities and reputation.

Make your decision on your own prerogative, for its what you do yourself and not the institution - dont fall into the trap of a snob who goes to a certain university and thinks that there is nowhere else besides University XYZ

And as Ewan McGregor put it in Trainspotting -

Choose a job.
Choose a career.
Choose a family,
Choose a fucking big television
Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers.
Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance.
Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments.
Choose a starter home.
Choose your friends.
Choose leisure wear and matching luggage.
Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics.
Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning.
Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit-crushing ga me shows
Stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth.
Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home
Nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats
You have spawned to replace yourself.
Choose your future. Choose life.

im off to bristol in a few weeks to do law, and it looks amazing, so i would definitely consider applying there.

however, i agree that they do choose their applicants in a wierd way....... though i got in, i no someone who got 4 A grades at a level and 7 A grades at as level and was rejected. dunno why they chose me... o well, im not complaining!!

other good unis to apply to are warwick, durham, manchester, nottingham, and a load of london ones.

It has been stated that applying to top universities for law is a lottery. But just because someone has better A level results doesn't necessarily mean they will be a better candidate for the degree.

7? 7 AS subjects? Err...why? And how? Where is this person going now?
No, its about your character and whether you have flair...
Anyone can achieve top grades at A-level and anyone can get a decent law degree... but not everyone has the ability to be original and to be different

Why do musicians get lucrative contracts ? Because they are original and different and those that sound like others simply dont make it

for example, the beatles were original, the kinks, the rolling stones, Frank Sinatra etc.

So whats a good original flair for a law student. I can't think of one, other than lots of work experince maybe.

Work experience can play a part but surely passion and ideas on justice is better?

perhaps they mentioned something in their PS which caused their application to be immediately rejected, such as mentioning the collegiate system, or talking about an area of Law they would like to specialise in, oblivious of the fact that bristol doesnt teach/specialise in it!

I got an offer from Bristol, and its and amazing Uni with an amazing Law course, but I didn't like the city and Durham edged it on that alone.
