Yes, because Iran is world renowned for being a liberal democracy

South Africa is reminded that Iran has universal suffrage and maintains free and fair elections. It is typical that Western Imperialists feel the need to lecture others on democracy and civil rights while simultaneously denying those same basic rights to others.

Suid-Afrika isn't Western

Perhaps the representative of South Africa is unaware of how his great-grandparents came to be there.
Reply 43
In that case everywhere is African.
I refer, of course, to the culture of the people not the race.
Reply 45
The afrikaans culture is distinct from that of Europe.
Afrikaans culture is derived from that of Europe and is thus Western.

Would South Africa have us believe that they value their African culture so much that they do not consider themselves Western, and yet deride their African citizens so much that they do not consider them worthy of equal status?

Liechtenstein notes that the culture of France is distinct from the culture of england, and that furthermore this debate over semantics is detracting from the issue at hand.
France cannot help being alarmed by the RSA's new initiative regarding ethnic minorities in their country, and urges the RSA to reconsider its position in light of the fact it is directly contradicting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and thus is open to any sanctions from the UN as a body of nations united under the ideal of peace and equality.

Surely the RSA agrees that at present, with democracy in such a fragile state across the globe, removing basic human rights from an entire ethic group is hardly the best move to take?

[OOC: At last! Some controversy ]
Tonga does not recognise the "Interim Government" of South Africa as legitimate and condemns this bloody coup.

What will Tonga do when a new Government is elected?
hopefully take the same line as russia has and refuse to recognise a government elected by a vastly unrepresentative group of the population.
Reply 52
I'm not sure you can actually do that. It is entirely up to a Nation state's Government who they allow suffrage to.
And it is also up to an individual nation state to recognise the legitimacy of a government, for whatever reason it makes that decision.

In which case the RSA will expel your diplomatic mission with effect from midnight GMT.
Reply 55
The RSA is pleased to announce reform is going well. We regret the need to expel Russia's diplomats but Russia left no choice.
Reply 56
Liechtenstein refuses to recognise the delegate and proposes a motion to expell said from the UN

You have no lawful authority to do so.
Afghanistan refuses outright to accept this forced-instated South African government. How can it truly be thought of as 'changes in the democratic structure of the Republic of South Africa' when a freely elected government has been ousted almost overnight in such a manner. Afghanistan would like to urge all UN countries to cease trade with this South African government until this issue is resolved with an internationally-accepted outcome.

That coming from a Government which was installed by force of arms of foreign powers!

Anything which deviates from the status quo is a change.

The RSA doesn't want your cocaine anyway.
