oh I didnt realise, congrats!! I would presume Hull campus then because I think the Scarbados course is Theatre and English, not Drama.

Assuming you've qualified for the bursary i believe it is received in 2 parts the first in october the second in february

It also says to pre- read some books they listed on their website before the semester starts. Did you do this? Is it necessary?

Did i have to apply for it? Because all i did was read about it in one of the leaflets from the uni, i just presumed it was automatically paid to you hmm?

As long as you have:

1) Applied for student loan
2) Classified as an independant student or low income
3) Agreed on the student loan form for them to share infomation

Then the process should be fairly automatic

Yeah I loved my time in Hull and I'm staying here for another year at least for the Masters

You dont HAVE to preread, I didnt because I came late through clearing like you, but if you have some spare time at the moment, you might as well, to give yourself a headstart and chill out a bit during term time. You might find it ok as you're doing a Joint Honours, but when its full on English, and you've like 4 novels to read at the same time sometimes for 4 different modules, I often found myself thinking ... Why didnt I do this before when I was dossing in Summer!!

Its entirely up to you. The reading is feasible during term time. But it IS your first year and on a night time, the pub will seem more appealing than a bit of Jane Austen!

It just gets the bad rep because Hull itself carries a bit of a stigma about it.

57% ish gettgin 2:1s and 1sts? ... I'd say it was a bit higher than that, but perhaps thats biased by the people I know. The large majority of my friends achieved 2:1s, in fact I'd go so far as to say.... 80% of the people i know got 2:1s, 10% 2:2s and 10% 1sts.

What is Hull uni like for languages? I live in hull at the moment, so I'm very familiar with the area etc and could recommend it to anyone, i love living here! I'm thinking of doing a french and spanish course next year at hull uni, and i've heard they've got a new language block or something there? If you could give me any information at all that'd be great!
