Thanks a lot. I know of a couple of other people who have offers to study maths at Christ's and they seem like great people. One of my interviewers (I shan't mention names, of course) seemed a little crazy in an awesome sort of way.
Will, maths at Christ's... -

May I ask why in you originally claimed in your profile that your name was Tom? Paranoia, or forgetfulness? -
Re: Cambridge 2008 Offer Holders' thread

Subject: English

Re: Cambridge 2008 Offer Holders' threadFirstly, congratulations on your offer!(Original post by mavoury)

On average, the university gives out 1.05 offers per place. So a number of people are obviously expected to miss their offers every year. But it's not *that* big a number (once you remove the Mathematicians from the statistics, who frequently don't meet the offers because they're so difficult) -- something like 10-15% don't get in, I think.
Don't be worried at all! Be HAPPYYYYYYYYYYY!

Re: Cambridge 2008 Offer Holders' threadIt WAS in my pocket for a while actually. hehe. Another letter arrived from my college about grants today, and i had this insane, absurd fear it was going to say "HAHA ONLY JOKING. YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE AN OFFER". But it didn'tOriginally posted by epitome
Well, at least you can study with a smile on your face and an offer in your pocket. Figuratively (or literally, if you put the letter there).
Apart from Robyn, anyone else headed for Selwyn College?Last edited by mavoury; 07-01-2008 at 16:28. -
