Thanks a lot. I know of a couple of other people who have offers to study maths at Christ's and they seem like great people. One of my interviewers (I shan't mention names, of course) seemed a little crazy in an awesome sort of way.
of course they are *considers repping the above post*...

    Will, maths at Christ's...

    And then there's Will.

May I ask why in you originally claimed in your profile that your name was Tom? Paranoia, or forgetfulness?

    Firstly, congratulations on your offer!

On average, the university gives out 1.05 offers per place. So a number of people are obviously expected to miss their offers every year. But it's not *that* big a number (once you remove the Mathematicians from the statistics, who frequently don't meet the offers because they're so difficult) -- something like 10-15% don't get in, I think.

Don't be worried at all! Be HAPPYYYYYYYYYYY!

Well, at least you can study with a smile on your face and an offer in your pocket. Figuratively (or literally, if you put the letter there).

It WAS in my pocket for a while actually. hehe. Another letter arrived from my college about grants today, and i had this insane, absurd fear it was going to say "HAHA ONLY JOKING. YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE AN OFFER". But it didn't
Apart from Robyn, anyone else headed for Selwyn College?

I wish I could find some scholarships without strings... my family income probably disqualifies me from normal financial aid, yet my father does not try to not talk about the costs of going to university...
