If you mean the question where it said 10^p = 0.1, then yes, p = -1.

    I think when you sub -1 back into the equation you get (-1) + 1 - 1 + 3 = 2.
Nope, you're mixing up your negatives, look:

    x³ + x² - x + 3
    (-1)³ + (-1)² - (-1) + 3

So you're taking minus 1, which is the same as adding +1.

    The lines were perpendicular
finding the gradients of both are 3 and -1/3 which makes -1
and i made the same maistake as r patel i think lol
THIS PAPER WAS *****G AWFUL. NOTHING FACTORSIED AND EVERYTHING CAME OUT WITH *****G FRACTIONS! NOTHING LIKE THE PAST PAPERS

I thought this paper was a fair one, could have been a lot worse or a lot easier, like the Jan 07 one hehe.
Question 3 was a bastard, was it complete the square?
and the last question I lost 5 marks on.
Think a B/C/D is the likely outcome

question 10 part ii was something like: solve f(x) = -9 and then it was a disguised quadratic wasn't it? i got x=1/2 and x=1 ..... but apparently they're wrong....

    what does everyone else think?

It's plus or minus 3, since they both solve the equation. I wrote 3...

Thats right, thats what i got.
Did you substitute x^3 as y, then multiply by y to get rid of it underneath. Then got 1/8 and 1. Thats what i did.
