Another natural mechanism is the physiological symptoms that occur when under intense stress that 'numb' the body. If the fox is under so much stress these natural mechanisms will kick in and it won't actually feel pain.(Original post by Naughty Natured)
Whether the fox suffers of stress... I suppose I shudnt assume it does but I dont think u shud assume that it doesnt... we have natural mechanisms as well - but how does it being 'a natural defence' mechanism make it any less stressful... you are assuming that it being a 'natural defence mechanism' disassociates the action from the rest of the brain. -
hang on, so, you say, most of the time foxes aren't killed in fox hunts? doesn't that mean fox hunts are barely effective? what's the point in fox hunting if it doesn't fulfil the purpose it set out to do?(Original post by cindy)
Sorry did not vote as the answers did not suit my opinions.
I wouldn't ban hunting as most of the properly ran hunts do so quite fairly in favour of the fox. I know that there has been alot of publicity about foxes being ripped apart by the hounds. This is rare and in fact most cases the fox does get away. Having said that I dont like the cruel side and would ask that there is some sort of regulatory body that checked all hunts. -
ARGH this argument is so irritating. The pole above states 'Yes, its cruel and barbaric'... I agree. BUT... it is not nearly as 'cruel and barbaric' as the other methods used! Tony Blair has banned fox hunting with sooo many flaws. The first, as i've said, is that other methods such as 'draghunting' and other 'traditional' methods (some of which are much more cruel) have not been included! SECONDLY; the police do not have the authority to enforce it upon private land! what the hell is the point banning something unenforcable!?!?! and THIRDLY, there is one reason, and one reason ONLY, that Tony Blair has banned fox hunting, it is so obvious that his old labour routes are showing their face, he is aware that the vast majority oppose it, and he is imposing upon the privelaged minority for ELECTORAL GAIN. It is not fair, i'm not a toff, but they should certainly have a voice!!!
