Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!Lol xD Nah was with Faisal but same department lol, thank god they get better! It wasn't too bad, the thought of £110 made it bearable lmao xD(Original post by harmony23)

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)! What did you think of it?(Original post by AlligatorTears)
cheers for that man, hopefully I can get all my documents in and I'll be doing some shifts in August. Can't wait, and I'm desperate for the cash!
Have applied for this myself. Thanks for the heads up on posting about it.(Original post by harmony23)
Yeah definiately, I went with a mate to one and alone to another. You end up meeting so many people anyway, Sonisphere was absolutely legendary, I was only alone when I slept!
Few questions to you 2. 12 hour shifts right? How many do you do? I've been accepted for Latitude. Just need to give them a ring tomorrow. It's 7 days work so do i work every day? What is the job like? What should i expect? Do i expect to be working more than i can enjoy? Do i work on my own etc etc
Thank you! -
Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!serous, how do you even find such a job like that(Original post by DannyR2811)

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!
If students want easy and flexible work, then i would recommend working for student events companies such as Roughhill in London.
You can earn easy money and get commission on how many tickets you sell for events. Also, there can be night work and flyering work available.
If you work for them, you can also get may perks such as free entry, queue jump and VIP to many events.
Defo is the best way to have a job over the summer, as you can have a social life and not work 24/7 too! -
Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)! That sounds like an option I may be able to go for.(Original post by RH1991)

I am currently for work, I am thinkign of going down the blogging for money route. I know it won't earn big bucks (at least at the start) but it can bring in some income, plus one blog is going to be about stuff relating to my course so it will help me learn while I earn
Now the only thing is to work out the best way to get into blogging. -
Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!I wouldn't recommend Barracudas anyway, worked for them and I didn't enjoy it.(Original post by xnatalie01x)
Applied for Barracudas, the others didnt seem to have anything near the London area unfortunately. Hope to get an interview! -
Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!
If you're looking at Summer Camps have you also considered working at Summer Schools? A lot of summer schools need Activities Staff and pay quite well, for example http://goo.gl/uV2Wm.

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!XKeys is the best summer job in the world! are you applying for residential? I'll be going back for my third summer next year!(Original post by Samus2)
Applying for Xkeys... I'm stuck on some questions though. Namely the facebook one...
If you are still stuck on the question, basically the correct answer is.. you cannot be friends with any of the children at the camp even once they turn 18, the only exception would be if they became a member of staff and you worked along side them!
Hope this helps -

! Sounds so good! I put my answer to that one as 'I wouldn't accept them because it wouldn't be appropriate for me to do so. If they sent a message asking why, I would simply reply it wasn't appropriate and no further contact would be made.'

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!
I'm hopefully working at a residential summer camp next year, not applied to any yet but will be soon. I know it may be a bit early to think about this considering i haven't applied but does anyone know what the interviews for summer camps are like? It it just like a typical job interview?

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!I worked a summer for International Quest. Their interview was pretty much all group activities: a mixture of time planning, checking that you're responsible and also that you can be enthusiastic and have fun. This included a group talent show act that you had to perform in front of everyone at the interview (100+ people)!(Original post by Forde)

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)! That doesn't sound too bad, except maybe the talent show. But then again I do seem to have a habit of embarassing myself infront of strangers so actually it might not be a problem.(Original post by Hedgeman49)

Re: Summer Job Guide for Students (and everyone)!
I fully intend to get a part-time job in my extra-long post GCSE summer this year (can't wait!
) and keep it on throughout AS and A level. The only thing I'm baffled on is when to apply, I know it has to be early enough to beat the queue but it can't be too early as I may risk having interviews (IF I get them) clashing with school time. Can someone please shed some light, thanks
